I found this brave crocus pushing up through the grass just before the blizzard hit. I figured it would be crushed by the ice and snow. We had 6 to 10 inches depending on where the winds blew.
But having a pup and an older dog do require nearly 24 hour supervision.
I've been taking the 'kids' for walks and looking for interesting small things before spring bursts forth with all the amazing wildflowers.
When we got back I got a nice surprise.
Things went from this....
By evening after a lot of yard work and a few walks to find more cool mosses....
the unthinkable happened.
Hannah crept up next to Charlie and slowly eased next to him [on HIS sacred couch!].
Curiously both dogs had to be touching me in some way too.
Hannah can still be a sharp toothed Terror but she has figured out who is boss and how far she can push him before he gives her a warning.
This was just too sweet. What a great way to end my day.
Lichens and mosses, my favorite. They're tiny universes. And clearly the pups are doing well. Charlie is getting used to her.
ReplyDeleteUsed to her, yes. But he rather her not chase and jump on him when he is taking walks. He stops her when he has had enough and at other times plays too.

ReplyDeleteVery cute snuggles! Nice of Charlie to share. Puppies are persistent. I think pups just wear the older dogs out asking, and they give in. At least that is how it has always happened here.
It certainly is. We are in for a couple of nice days and in for a couple of cold ones too! Mother Nature, make up your mind!
DeleteIt's so wonderful when you see them bonding. I'm surprised it's been three weeks. Time is waiting for no one!
ReplyDeleteCharlie is still slow to warm up to her. He plays with her once in a while and does allow her to cuddle when she is tired. The Dachshund in him is pretty stoic.
