Uh oh, the hike and my heart strings....

We went for a hike on Thursday and to my huge surprise not any other human had used this trail. In the past few years when I did this trail, it was really tromped down between snowshoes and fat tire bikes.

We did find deer and coyote tracks in the snow that was up to Charlie's chest. He popped through the snow like it was nothing. He did get tired halfway through, so we sat on a log and had snacks and water in the warm sunlight.

He must have got a second burst of energy because he really went for the gold. Little dog who loves snow play.

This afternoon we are having this:

Photo taken looking across the pasture. So is March going to come in like a lion then?

We got seven inches of snow in a short space of time.

The girls were just fine as it was a fluffy snow with no winds. Here they are after they left their hay pile and took a walk to the heated water tank. This morning they are napping in the warm morning sun in their leftover hay.

The heavy snow band was very narrow and heavy.

I did this thing while waiting out the snowstorm. I went on line and looked at Petfinder.com out of curiosity. I had this sudden horrible urge to ... to... add to my house.

Tell me I am crazy and stupid or that it isn't a good idea to add another distraction of love to my house.

Is two better than one? Is it? I don't have any photos of years ago when I had two larger dogs living with us and the kids. The dogs were always a joy and a lot of work.

I do have photos of me raising Rich's hound dogs along with Morris my Jack Russel and having Charlie pair of with the big ol' coon hound, Dixie.

This is how that experiment worked out....

Just go ahead and tell me I am crazy and that it is a stupid idea. Please. Because my Heart πŸ’“πŸ’•πŸ’–πŸ’”is really having a go of it.

It's always been a thing with me.....

I will be meeting Bently tomorrow at noon. He is the one with the colorful chest.

    1. So true. My heart is open though for this. But I'm still trying to decide.

  2. If Charlie is ok with it I say go for it. But then I am the person who had 7 large dogs at the same time.

    1. We had 9 hounds and three hound puppies I was training for Rich. I loved the puppy training, it was the best! I take all the time in the world with it.
I feel like I suddenly had the sunshine fall into my life with this prospect.

Do it! Dogs love to have a buddy and you and Charlie will give him a good and full life. We have adopted so many over the years, with no regrets. Think of it from the puppies point of view and the quality of life you can give him. Lori

    1. This will be a first adoption which is cool. Puppy work is probably some of the most fun work ever. I love working with animals.
I think Charlie won't be so lonely when I leave him home too.
      Here...
      comes
      trouble!
