Helping Paws

Sunrise walk. Charlie assists in making sure I set things up properly.

He then slides off to the side of the road to investigate smells.

...and the final product we were working on.
Morning Coffee on Tigen Road:

We went back home for morning chores and errands. Charlie supervised the house cleaning by sitting with Rich and watching the vacuum cleaner.

Our whole afternoon was spent gardening. Okay. Charlie and I.
He had a unique method of helping.

He packed some seeds down for me.

Later he helped by guarding the bucket of seeds and chewing up an old corn stalk.

It got warm in the dirt and he started to pant so I put him on his rug up on the porch where he could oversee the progress and stay cool.

I'm not sure how I could manage each day without him as a Helping Hand and Supervisor.

Rich didn't feel well most of the day yesterday. He felt dizzy and out of it. He spent most of the day in bed. I hope we are able to soon figure out if the meds he is taking are doing this or it is something else. His B/P and his O2 levels were appropriate.
Today we take his mom to have a Neuro-Psychology Test.

Take a Hike by Morris

The hike.
She carried me under her arm to get me past the molly mules who don't like dogs in their pastures.
I tuck up under her arm very well.  I place my feet on her pistol's butt and the belt itself.
We headed down the ridge road to the creek and to my surprise she kept going.

She had to climb a fence and work her way through berry briers and multiflora rose bushes that whipped at her.  I just scooted underneath them on the deer trail.

Finally we came to the wide open space that she calls 'the knob'.
I could see forever...well as forever as a dog that is only 12" tall can see!
She got busy taking photos of weeds and stuff.  I kept an eye out for other critters and found a mouse nest to dig up.
Then we decided to take the long way back down through the valley and not try and cut through all the brush.  I must say, she made a pretty smart move.  It is easier to follow the creek than to try and bust through thick brush.
When I got back to the farm, I was tired!  I think I ran twice the distance that SHE walked.

A nice simple nap was in store when I got home.  I snuggled up on the couch.  Sigh.
She still had one more shot to take.
Of me...

She's Packing AGAIN ~ by Morris

Dang, she is packing bags up.  Again.
She did it once before and left me with HIM for a very long dog while.

SHE did say something about washing my blankets and giving me a bath.
Mebbe.
Mebbe, I am going with her?  Oh joy of joys .... not to be stuck with the Grumpy HIM!
I've been laying on her feet so she won't forget me.
I've been putting my hedgehogs in her way.  I even put one in her work bag just in case she needed something to remind her of me.

SHE sort of gave me the eye over that.
But I don't care.
I want to go with her.  And I think that might mean that I get to ride in that fancy thing she calls a Jeep!  Oh boy!
I've marked the tires on it really well, so I can figure out which vehicle it is.

I'm hoping that I get to visit a place where I have dog friends.  Like Teslin or the Grandma dog, Sammy.
Yep.
I gotta keep a close eye on her.

When she packs her camera bag and puts my tie out cord in my travel kennel I'll KNOW!
Truly yours.
