I went to bed at 9PM. Woke up at 10PM and stared out the window until much later, then wrestled the covers a while. Rearranged pillows. Got up, walked downstairs. Looked out the window.
The New Year didn't look any different at 2AM than it did the day before. But at least there wasn't fog.
I went back and beat my pillows up a bit and pushed around the blankets much to Charlie's disdain and sighs. He sleeps on a corner of the bed in his own little nest.
Welcome 2025 your start sucked.
By 4AM I made decafe coffee and decided to go through my files for December and back up other photo files.

Hmm

By 5AM I got up and started stretching. Either a pressure system was moving through or suddenly I aged a gazillion years over night. Everything hurt from head to toe.
Maybe I'd just skip 2025 all together.
Charlie watched me sleepily and went to his nest on the couch. Big help he was!
I thought I'd check into my mileage for the year of 2024. I was surprised. I did reach a pretty cool milestone. 1,070 miles hiked since January 1st 2024. I had no intention of reaching any goal other than just having fun keeping track.
Maybe I'd better get my oil checked for this year.
After another morning walk and some other Mobility work, my body felt much better.
So I guess 2025 may not be so bad after all.
I think I'll go do some Loopy Yarn work today and perhaps a nap.
Happy New Year Day.
A shot from last year.
LD....Yes I too was up and down all night. I finally took something and I felt it working right away melting me into dream land. I hope tonight will go better for you.
ReplyDeleteSleep is a thing that comes and goes. I have to come and go with it!
DeleteLOL!
At the London New Year (7pm here) I poured some champagne in the flute I bought in 2000 when I had to work on New Years Eve and sipped ginger ale at my desk all day. And realized that was 25 years ago. I now feel entirely ancient and probably need to spend this year in my recliner covered in blankets and sipping tea.
ReplyDeleteYou are too active to spend life in the recliner! Here is to a wonderful start to this year.
DeleteHappy New Year! You had a restless start! I was asleep by 11 PM and stayed asleep until my bladder woke me up at 4 then I watched a movie and about 5:30 went back to sleep until 9:30..you guessed it another bladder wake up call:) I hope you have a healthy, happy best that you can be new year:)
ReplyDeleteMy nights are fairly restless anyway. I have several in a row and then I seem to sleep better for a night or two.
DeleteWe certainly will try for a decent 2025.
You can quite an interrupted night. I am fairly familiar with those.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of those also. But every once in a while I get what I think is a good night's sleep.
Delete:)
I can see that we both indulge in the same sport, wrestling the covers. You’re at a higher level than me, however, you beat up the pillows too! My answer to sleepless nights is to get up and read. Then, when the lines in the book start to merge, I scurry back into bed as quickly as I can and generally I can fall asleep. Remember those days when we were younger and a good night’s sleep was never something you even wondered about? Happy days gone by!
ReplyDeleteOn good moonlit nights, I just go for a walk instead of beating up pillows.
DeleteEventually I have a day and night where I sleep nearly the whole day away.
Yes, here is to a good night's sleep and a good year.
Interesting that you also experienced such a sleepless night. Me too. I had a low grade nagging headache (and I rarely get headaches) that kept me from sleeping. It didn't help the 3 dogs took turns and wanted out 5X that night (our grand dog slept over).
ReplyDeleteThere was a strong geomagnetic storm happening. We were socked in with clouds and couldn't see it, but it was still manifesting. We all took naps the following day.
I actually have a lot of nights like that but it was worse NYE.
DeleteMaybe it was the geomagnetic storm! I'll go with that!
Yes, maybe an oil change. 😊 I use melatonin and it works well for me. You did a lot of walking!
ReplyDeleteYes, I actually took melatonin for this. Alas, the brain had other ideas. Oh well.
DeleteI hope you were able to take a nap. The cold weather has certainly made a difference in how my body feels....just keep plugging away. I find that the older I get, the more trouble I have sleeping the way I used to. I wonder how many mile my steps add up to! Lori
