Good morning. Well, the shot below was a shot looking west taken on Saturday morning. The skies were amazing. Hannah makes sure I am awake for predawn. When she can hear the first bird peeping, she lets me know that I can get up to serve her breakfast and to let her outside, not necessarily in that order.
She and Charlie eat do their stuff and promptly go back to sleep.
Doggone dogs!
The moon brightened the land even if the moon was behind clouds. The shot of the house and the Lightening Bugs are my favorite ...
I tried an experiment with my headlamp and tried to illuminate
or 'paint' the tree with light to give the photo more depth.
Seems my sky colors and 'white' balance are
always a bit off when shooting at night.
~~~ I need to do more studying and experimenting
to do this better. At least I tried. ~~~
The one below is a composite shot of the outhouse
and the spot I park in.
I set up the camera and then took the dogs for their night business. This is the amount of Lightening Bugs that were moving around not far from my back door.
I walked to the ridge to see if I could see anything that was interesting there. Nope, the wind was blowing and the insects had moved deep into the woods. Perhaps one of the next nights, I can try a few shots in that forest with light painting.
It is worth a try just to see if I can get anything interesting. After all, photography is all a matter of perception and experimentation of what you can imagine.
The photo below is a Lego Space Robot I dubbed as Bobo. He is visiting Earth and exploring.
I set this up on Sunday while it was storming. It looks like I may have to do some things to stay cool today.
I'll treat this weather like an extremely subzero winter day.
My opinion on this Heat Dome and Climate Change? 👇😢
Hannah was doing so well until she started licking and annoying her incision from surgery. I did some quick thinking and came up with this.
She is a good dog because she accepted me dressing her in a onesie without any fuss. But that look!
She did just fine modeling an 18 month old onesie.
I took her and Charlie for a nice long walk to the meadows and then to the ridge yesterday so they would be content for the evening.
What's up with anyone else in this Heat Dome today?
Hope you are all staying well.
Over 80 F or 26.6 C at 7am. It could be a cooker.
We are having the same weather. This year is really highlighting the effects of climate change. Europe has been a prime example of the acceleration. I'm staying inside, the horses will be coming in early, the barn stays cooler.
ReplyDeleteYou got some good photos. I've been watching the fireflies Glimmer through the trees. They are kind of entrancing.
Hannah has the 'look'.
Fireflies are entrancing. I sat out and watched them last night before going to bed. They are mesmerizing.
DeleteOooo, I hope that Hannah doesn't cause a problem with her surgery spot, or that it's not getting infected. Darn doggo! LOVE your firefly photos. You have a TON of them out there talking dirty to each other. Your tree does look like it's glowing too. My few fireflies are eating my basil plants. Such class. Ran my errands early this morning to avoid some of the heat wave. Supposed to be 105 index the rest of the week. Stay watered. Watch "March of the Penguins" to stay cool. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteSo far so good, she did aggravate it but doesn't seem to be bothered by the onesie other than me putting it on.
DeleteI have fireflies in my flowers in the garden during the day and it is fun to see them hiding there.
Hannah looks adorable in her onesie! What beautiful photos at early dawn.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Sleepless nights are good for photography.
DeleteIt's fun to see your photos, especially when I see or you tell how you did the shot. We also did Onsies for the girls when they were spayed. I was amazed that they didn't try to chew them off during the night. Since my girls don't have tails, I was able to snap the Onsie around their bottoms when I wasn't around to supervise. Otherwise, I left them open just in case one had to squat.
ReplyDeleteGood! These work well for Hannah too, but I did switch over to her doggy t shirt and picked up one that fits her better when I was in town.
DeleteShe doesn't mind wearing a doggy t shirt at all. Charlie on the other hand absolutely does NOT like them!
She may not have fussed too much about dressing up, but I bet she will be happy to have it off again.
ReplyDeleteThanks, oddly enough, after giving me the look, she ignores the onesie or the dog t shirt. Charlie on the other hand is very opinionated about 'dog' clothes.
DeleteSmart move....spending more time inside. The heat dome is on its way to Brockport and I'm not looking forward to it. I have a friend who lives in France and a heat dome was over them for 10 days. No thank you. Hannah looks like she is doing well. Lori. PS. I wonder why my blog was not showing up. I see yours and Sandra's regularly.
ReplyDeleteYep, don't know why the blog is missing. However, I did hear that quite a few deaths were caused by that heat in France.
DeleteHannah is doing well, thanks.
