Meanwhile in The Christmas Village

I survived the 9 hours of Jury Selection! 100 people were summoned, 80 showed. 14 were finally picked after a long day.

I am not discussing the case as it was disturbing.

I know there is evil in this world and one does not even have to watch the nightly news to discover it.

Instead I am going to turn to my Christmas Village tonight....

I put up my Christmas Lego Village and came up with a fun idea. I'm trying to take a photo a day of the Mini-me and Mini-Charlie walking about the village and taking photos of things going on.

The story is that the Mayor of the Village hired Mini-me to take photos of the Village for his Tourism Brochure that he wants published next year.

Whoops! I wonder if the Mayor will be happy with this one! [UM, that IS the Mayor in the outhouse!]

And of course the Village offers a groomed cross country skiing trail complete with very friendly polar bears.

The elves let me in on their secret of how they get SO much work done in such a short time. Why not have a Merry Alien to help decorate tall trees and move large packages!
I bet you thought it was all magical!

There is a skating rink in the Village that they are thinking of expanding for next year!
Um I wonder if the snowperson was afraid Charlie would leave him with some yellow snow!

Mini-me and Charlie went to observe the local band playing and singing Christmas Carols in the town square.

[Do you see who showed up to the Caroling???]

You know. Life as a Mini-me is so much simpler and joyful.

  2. Did you get picked for the jury? Sadly, there is far too much evil in the world.

Loving your mini me village. That sounds like an exhausting day you had. I’m glad you had this to put together. These lovely mini me scenes of yours, so great!

  4. You are right about there being way too much evil in the world. Just know that they are the 1% and the majority of the population are maybe not angels, but not evil either. Love your village!

    1. Thanks, I was surprised at how many jurors had experienced the crime being tried.

  5. Your village has lots of fab greenery -- pine Xmas trees, an alien, the Grinch . . . great photo shoot idea!

    1. The trees are so much fun to move around to frame the photos!
Choosing this method of a mini me running around is pretty fun!

  6. The Grinch seems happy with Christmas, so it won't be stolen. My experience with low-slung male dogs is the can't hit anything!

  8. I see you said you didn't get picked. Did you want to get picked for this one? Hopefully you can go if the weather holds up.

Love the minis and that you're doing one shot per day. I shoot daily as well. It's just the best. I see the Grinch showed up to sing.

Thanks for your comment on my mini post as well. That last one with the elephant from Misfit island is all inverse square law. The flash simply falls off and that created the super black back and then the board is a board I made over the summer.

    I really love black.

Wishing you fun this coming 2026 with new photography challenges, good walks and a great pup by your side. We miss ours!

    Happy Christmas and boogie boogie.

    1. In a way I wish I had been. It was very interesting to watch the methods of questioning by the DA and by the Defending attorney.

  12. Cute gnome & fun scenes!

I have gotten called up to serve more than anyone I know, within their limits. I did serve on a few trials years ago. Agreed, the process is interesting. Altho I didn't enjoy uncomfortable stares from those on trial. I gave a hard no to being impartial to a particular disturbing case. Almost got chosen...prosecution wanted me for good reason. Sorry, not sorry. Thankful I was excused. I don't need to live unforgettable detailed demented stuff. Things horror films and nightmares are made of. NO thanks. However, I am glad some do it.

I am up again for jury duty in 2026. Second time in this new County **sigh**

    1. Yes, this would have been my third time summoned and 2nd time serving if I'd have gotten chosen.
I agree, seeing awfulness so close to home is not nice.
