Ice

Ice

That is what is in the forecast for tonight through Thursday. Snow doesn't bother me but ICE scares me. We've had times when we couldn't get in or out of our place for more than a couple of days due to ice storms.

I think two weeks of really bad weather is getting to me. Isn't spring supposed to be around the corner?

Uh Oh

Snow day...blizzard, winds, snow,...it ended on Sunday morning so I got out and played on the snow. My school finals ended on Saturday.

When I went to the ridge top on Sunday morning, there was no sign of our road. I of course took a picture of the mailbox which seemed to be the only indication of life. Thank goodness for snowshoes, they sure kept me on top of those 6 ft deep drifts.

This morning our woods were frosted with a fresh new 'frosting' of snow. It sure looks beautiful.

Take a hike...

The Man

I couldn't believe my ears when he said he'd take a hike with me! Well this was better than anything at all! I enjoy his company and we took a nice hike through the woods.
He patiently explained the tracks we saw in the snow. I think he was hoping to spot some deer but we had the dog with us and he probably made enough noise to scare anything off with his running back and forth. No, he didn't bark, but he did make noise tearing through the brush.

It was a complete day.

Happy Feet

Happy Feet

Every one should have Happy Feet. These were a gift from my Mother in Law's friend who thought I'd like something quirky. Little did she know that this was right up my alley! The slippers even bray like a little donkey when you squeeze them!

I've been working on schoolwork for days it seems. Today I turned in my lessons and plan on taking tomorrow off. I went to the 'beauty parlor' to get beautiful??? When I got home after delivering flowers to my MIL, my dear husband took me out to dinner.

On the way home he admitted that his mom called him and politely suggested that he take me out to eat!
Gosh I gotta love her!

Can you see the beast?

Morris wears orange.

We did go out for a nice long walk and Morris's silly looking orange sweater did help me keep track of him.

I had a wonderful long conversation with a woman today who is and endurance -- equine -- photographer along with a writer for horse magazines.
Boy howdy, did I get a lesson and encouragement. Not really on the photography side of things which is okay--but she did tell me that if a magazine wants to use a picture or an article that I should get $ for it! She even gave me a reference guide.
Even better, she has a mule that she rides!

So my day went from blah to pretty nice really. I had a wonderful walk with Morris and a good afternoon doing articles for Mules and More, along with a phone chat...
and then my A&P lab experiment on digestion. [Wow, interesting, eh?]

Leave me be...

Exactly how I feel today. Some days are like that. Can I just be alone without anyone bothering me? I don't want to cook, clean, do homework, or even be NICE. I've run out of nice.

Maybe I just need to get out in the woods and see if I can whup up some nice?
Maybe me, Morris, and the snowshoes will take Mr. Camera for a hike. I can put Morris in his silly day glow orange sweater I bought for him so I can keep track of him in the snow!
Sounds like a plan!
Adios!

The path less traveled by...

Snow Tracks

Winter is beautiful and this is a time for change. I'm staying at two places, if you've followed my blog, I won't bore you with details.
I've learned so much over the past few months. I've learned a great deal from my MIL.
I'm looking for a new job. I'm looking for a new career, and looking forward to spring.
My school load was light this week so I've done my taxes, updated my FSFA student loan information, redone my resume, and got paperwork set up for an internship with a clinic next year.
I filed a Work Comp claim for a 'dorsal wrist ganglion cyst' that is giving me one hell of a pain in typing.
My boss wasn't pleased, but let me file. He did wonder out loud if this cyst would interfere with me getting another job.
HMMMM?
He's finally figured out that I'm not happy there?

I feel like a kid again with so many possibilities facing me!
