Ahhhhh!

It would be a good weekend to play the music from Frozen!

Let's talk weather for one second!

Or pretend it doesn't exist. Maybe I'll put up summer photos on my computer and have them scroll through so I can pretend it is summer.

Huh.

Saturday:

Sunday:

The weather icon says it it 'Fair' outside. I think they mean that it is mostly clear. I'm not even going to talk wind chill.

The truth be told though, winter is partially my favorite season.
No bugs.
No lawn mowing.
No weeds to contend with.
No humidity.

Can't get naked to cool off on a hot day.
The wild animals might see me and die of fright.
But I do like all seasons...just mainly not bugs and humidity.

Chores went well on Saturday morning despite the temperatures.

Charlie had another opinion. He'd gone out did his thing quickly and then settled in on the couch blankets with some of my gear.

But at -20F [-29C]? I'll wait until it comes up to zero to go out and enjoy hiking.

I find it interesting that Fahrenheit and Celsius get closer and closer as it gets colder. But that is not true either!

Absolute zero is weird too. 0 Kelvin, -273.15 C, and -459.67 F.  Supposedly that is zero point energy.

I looked that stuff up because I was curious about cold and how cold could it ever be? Zero point energy would mean, I guess that nothing would be alive.

Yikes!

So in thinking about cold weather, I got out my Ice Planet Minifig and decided to do a portrait of her. Yes, it is a she! I love that Lego has both genders doing tough jobs. I'm going to call her Shelly.

Apparently, she doesn't mind icy places as she lives [according to Lego] on a planet of ice and snow.

Looks like she has a Robot Penguin. I guess it will need a name also.

Lastly. I did do some experimental photography yesterday with my Lensbaby Sweet 50.

I was in the mood for pink. Well, that was the one color of dried flowers I had.

In the evening, I tried watching some mysteries on the Boob Tube. Nothing held my attention. Instead I turned on some music via YouTube and let it keep me company.

So I created my own murder mystery with the Film Noir Detective from Lego. I processed it as 'Film Noir' also because it just seemed fitting.

Now I have to garb up and go water my little pony. The gals are still eating the huge pile of hay I put out last evening.

We are already up to -10!

I've been thinking well, no mosquitoes, lately, too.

Yes, 40 below is the same temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit! I LOVE your film noir photo!

We did go out -- very briefly. I've posted already. Now, what shall I do? I can tell you what dull, ole me won't be doing -- creating inside photos. My brain is too dull for that.

Love the playing with the camera. Just the best. Inside or outside. I don't care. While my heart lives in the woods. It also lives in the studio.

Gee, Kansas City's -3 F seems pretty warm compared to you. I'd need a hot summer surf movie to warm up. I watch March of the Penguins in the summer when I need to cool off. Charlie's spot is a good idea. Stay warm. The PBS channels are sometimes good when nothing good is on. Linda in Kansas

As long as there is no wind, doing chores is bearable! but I'm with Charlie- keep it short going outside and cuddle on the couch with a blanket!
We are currently watching the English speaking version of Wallander .

Glad to know you're all set. Charlie looks so cute and I love your outside outfit, one I envy. I'm actually a winter person but these unusual storms make me think twice. Love to see Shelly and co and great job on those pretty pink flowers. Our snow is expected late tonight and it is - 7 C right now at 5.48 p.m. Stay safe and warm :)

I like the no bugs aspect of winter too. I also like that I can always add layers to stay comfortable. In the depth of summer, there are only so many layers I can remove and stay decent by societal standards!

I like the no bugs, no sweating, no snakes part of sub zero weather! Charlie looks so cute!

It is very cold here too, but we still get outside. Today we found two Snowy Owls. That’s all the reason I need to be thankful for winter.

I enjoy your photography!

I doubt your brain is dull at all! :)

I've always wanted that character to do mystery scenes with.

Nope, no bugs! Yippe!

I hope to get down into the valley now that we have reached zero. No wind, so it shouldn't be so bad, maybe I can find something interesting.

Val Ewing said...

I agree, get out of the winds and it isn't a problem. I loved that series of Wallander!

Orchestral Concerts are pretty cool too!

You got it!

thanks!

Charlie has the right idea. Anywhere near Absolute Zero sounds absolutely frightening. I love Winter but wish it wasn't so hard on animals.

Nice ice-y backgrounds! Very fitting.

True enough. Though the mules were again napping in the snow this early afternoon just snoozing away. I admit, the sun provided such great radiant heat that we sat on the porch and I had tea [in my coveralls after watering...LOL].

You forgot one, no snakes. Although rattlers are probably pretty rare out your way.

We do have them all over the bluffs of the Mississippi River! On hot summer day.

Your Legos are adorable and I'm enjoying your experimentation with the pink dried (???) flowers. They don't look dried.

Val Ewing said...

Thanks Kay, they came in a box of a variety of dried flowers for crafts. I'm trying to find good uses for them.
