Cantharellus cibar...The Mushroom is a Chanterelle. Cantharellus cibarius! There are many versions of them. All edible! ( Choice edible!) They will grow in the same location year after year because they form a relationship with that tree they are near. ( usually oaks?) Not the "Ridges" on the underside. they are Not plate-like gills. (You can pull gills off the underside without damaging the cap.) Good eatin! If you find more, sample a few with some eggs and onions or garlic. (Or just by themselves....Even edible mushrooms might upset certain people's tummies.) If no ill effects, DIG IN! They are one of my favorite summer mushrooms. When conditions are right, you will find Hundreds or even thousands! A Billion dollar industry in Sweden and Norway. Also... love that red (orange) moon.
