  10. How wonderful... heavenly.
I tried riding for a while too, but I think you only really learn it properly if you have your own horse... besides, all the work with the horse is part of it—understanding it and being understood—and actually, I loved working with the horse even more.
Beautiful photos... thank you very much.

    1. I worked with horses for many years until my husband introduced me to mules and then I had to relearn everything I knew about equine.
Yes, having them at your home opens many things up.
I will say that I do have a better understanding of animals than I do of people.

Animals are always truthful if you can listen to them.

    2. Thank you very much for your reply; it really encourages me to explore the subject of mules from a theoretical standpoint, and given their intelligence, they seem like loyal companions.
It is wonderful that you have the opportunity to live alongside these animals. And it is wonderful that you share this with us... I always enjoy encountering animals—whether it’s a cat, a dog, or the birds in the garden. I rarely have other opportunities, but I always feel a positive connection.
      Sending you a hug.

    3. No problem! I assisted in Sunshine's birth so she knows me quite intimately.
Mules will make an incredible bond with a human. Sunshine's brother who is no longer with us developed a bond like no other. He would follow me around when I'd dismount and walk ahead of him.
He knew what I wanted to do without me asking him to do it. I'm sure my body language spoke volumes to him.

He also was a tall mule but only adored little people [kids] and me. He disliked any gruff men period. He was extremely gentle all of his life.

      thanks!
